Your Safety

Your safety is of paramount importance to us therefore we have put together this brief guide to help you stay safe when using this service.

What we do for you

  • We do not display the real names of our members*
  • We do not display the birth dates of our members
  • We do not display the address of our members
  • We do not display an email address of our members
  • We monitor the system to review events and activities
  • We review and approve providers and member profiles
  • We do not read messages unless we have good reason
  • We censor profiles to ensure they do not display offensive words or personal information
  • We monitor the system to look for dishonest activity

What you need to do for yourself

  • Do not give out your contact details in any message unless you are sure about the person you are giving them to
  • Do not give out too much information about yourself before you are more sure about the person with whom you are corresponding
  • Never include any personal or private information in your profile. (If we find any telephone numbers or email addresses we will censor this to ensure your safety)
  • If you're unsure about an event or activity, check it out by contacting the activity provider directly or any of the other members (providing they are not anonymous) before you enrol for the event
  • Never pay any money up front for an event or activity unless you are sure it is genuine. If the provider has their own booking process make sure you conduct the transaction through the event providers site or pay cash on the day
  • If you're meeting another member, ensure:
    1. It is in a public place,
    2. You are familiar with where you are going,
    3. You make someone else aware of your whereabouts,
    4. You do not accept a lift home,
    5. You do not say where you live.

Please note

Whilst we do what we can to minimise any errant activity on the system we cannot fully prevent it.

This safety page has been compiled without any form of guarantee, commitment or obligation towards your safety other than pointing out what you can do to keep yourself safe. At the end of the day its all about having your wits about you and using your common sense at all times.

*The only instance of using a full name of a member is on the greeting to themselves when they login and also to an Activity Provider when signing up to an event, as they will need to know your real name for their attendance records.

If you have any cause for concern, please contact us.
